Q. How about potty training?

A. We will start potty training when you and we believe the time is right. The Center's approach toward potty training is one of positive reinforcement and encouragement. If your child is already in the process of potty training he or she will need to have two or three pairs of underwear and pants left in his or her cubby.

Q. What about diapers?

A. Please bring at least eight, labeled.

Q. What about bringing food?

A. Please coordinate with your teacher concerning a special diet you may bring for your child. She will work with your child to keep her or him on track.

Q. What about toys?

A. We request that you check with your child's teacher before you bring toys to the school. Sharing personal toys is difficult for young children. Also, we cannot be responsible if a toy is lost or broken.

Q. What about blankets and cuddlies?

A. Children are encouraged to bring special blankets and cuddlies from home if they wish. Please label all items clearly.

Q. What about donations?

A. We welcome donations of almost any kind. Things you throw away can often be used in the classroom.

Q. What about Field Trips?

A. Classrooms sometimes take trips away from the Center. You will be informed prior to any off-campus trips. All children traveling in our two vans will be in seat belts. Please see our Transportation page.

Q. What about school policies?

A. These are available to you when you visit with us or enroll.

Q. What about prices?

A. We prefer to talk about prices with you directly. Would you please call Ms. Helle at 972-235-6930? Thanks.

Q. What about parent conferences?

A. Individual conferences are frequent, as frequent as you may need. But we also have periodic parent-teacher conferences on a group basis.

Q. Can I talk directly with the staff?

A. Absolutely, we encourage this, anytime.

Q. What is a typical schedule of activities in a day?

A. Please see our Typical Daily Schedule page.

Q.What are your child/staff ratios?

A. We show the ratios on each of our micro-sites: Infants/Toddlers, Two's, Preschool, Kindergarten, or School-age.

Q. How am I kept informed about my child's experiences at the Center?

A. "What We Did Today" notes are posted on a white board each afternoon outside the classroom for two's through kindergarten. For the infants and toddlers we provide a daily verbal report to you about how your child's physical needs were met.

Q. What about curriculums?

A. Please call the Center for information about our age-appropriate curriculums.

Q. What about a complementary visit?

A. Please feel free to contact us about a convenient time to bring your child (toddlers and older) for a free day to explore The Village School.
