| Two-year-olds
spend their day in carefully organized play. Learning is split between
teacher-directed
and self-directed activities, quiet and active play. Indoors or
outdoors.
Since attention spans are still very limited, teacher-directed
activities
such as circle time, story time, and music are kept short and somewhat
spontaneous.
Art activities are designed to promote the process rather than the
product
and are are favorites among the children. The classroom also offers
opportunity
for dramatic play and dress-up as well as gross-motor activities and
manipulatives.
Language development is a primary focus in our two-year-old
classroom.
The Center's approach toward potty training is one of positive reinforcement and encouragement. We will start potty training whenever you and we believe is best for your child. Our caregiver / child ratio is 1:9 Please see the curriculum for our two-year-olds. |
