Private kindergarten is available at The Village School for children who turn five years old by December 1 or who, in the opinion of the director and teachers, have the skills needed to succeed in this fairly structured program. It is a full day program.

The curriculum (see below) is theme based with emphasis on beginning reading, writing, math and social studies. Although interest centers are available in this class, they are not the focus of the academic learning--they serve as extensions. This program should definitely be considered by those parents who do not feel that public school kindergarten fulfills their child's academic needs. The ratio is 1:15.
