Private kindergarten is available at The Village School for children who turn five years old by December 1 or who, in the opinion of the director and teachers, have the skills needed to succeed in this fairly structured program. It is a full day program.

The curriculum is theme-based with emphasis on beginning reading, writing, math and social studies. Although interest centers are available in this class, they are not the focus of the academic learning--they serve as extensions. This program should definitely be considered by those parents who do not feel that public school kindergarten fulfills their child's academic needs. The ratio is 1:15.
